ARE YOU NOW, OR HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN?
I made the decision to marry the man of my dreams for over three years since I'd known him. We got married in Singapore under the pink blossom trees, which was another one of my dreams and he made it so special for me and got it just right. It let me know that he had been listening and paying attention long before I even knew. When he passed away two years later from cancer, I knew that I would never re-marry. But I am so grateful to have found him, then and to have our memories now.
BVHGail Maoroury

Today I caught fish fa, you would have been pleased for me; that there was this boy Lincoln and for his love for me, that he took me fishing in his secret fields in Idaho, We rode bikes all the way, it felt like we rode from Sacramento. We went to catch fish, and when they came, so regal and majestic, it took all our strength to reel them in, but I could never partake, watching their scales shimmer in the setting sun. We let them go and danced around in the rain among the fireflies.

A VOGUE START
by Julianna Goldberry
"I was sure that just by looking at one of those Vogue girls the same look would come on me. That was the power of fashion to me. I was a school girl then, but 20 years on an iconic fashion image will still get me."

I've just recently returned from The Gambia with the CHSDiscoveryWildlife team who invited me along for their fouth leg of the trip - well truth be told I wore them down. Don't get me wrong, planning social parties and events is an absolute pleasure, but I wanted to experience life away from the galas, the balls and such for a moment. It turned out to be one of the most incredible moments of my life. So without further ado and as they like to say here in CHS world, I invite you to "Discover" my incredible journey in pictures.

TALES OF CORSICA
by Gida Burkhart
As a native, the island of Corsica could not fail once the money came to develop and since then tourism has grown in the last fifteen years. The island is not only beautiful but also unusual. It is especially so in the summer times, although the coasts are hot and dry, the summers are neither long or overpowering. The famous Ajaccio is the popular place to visit and must see location of Corsica; the outdoor cafe's under the palms, the spacious
squares and new hotels, the yachts in the harbour all add to the charm and holiday glamour of the place. Another charming place is Bastia, the working town and the port at the lower E side of Cap Corse. The old port and citadel is undoubtedly the towns centrepiece. The blossoming resort there and Biguglia lagoon is a must see with its wide beach expanse of fine sand and shade of pine and eucalyptus.

I continue my Personal historic accounts of cities in France. My childhood city, it is where I grew up and for as long as I can remember, I was always besieged by the dream to discover every nook and cranny of my beloved France. So when I was approached by Elizabeth to join the CHSDiscovery team and further told all I had to do was tavel, travel, travel, I immediately said yes! Of course I made my passion for France very clear from the start and much to my wish and a great boss, I joined the CHS France team CHSWorld.

BOTSWANA AFTER

SHORT STORIES
"We were the children of Diplomats, blonde hair, grey eyes and paper thin pale skin that burnt far too easily in the South African sun. I was the odd one out. In my case, my hair was red copper, like fire my mother would say affectionately; my brothers would say with a warning that I was not to be messed with and they weren't too far
off from the truth. I had a smart mouth and a peppery tongue, whilst my two brothers with their golden halos could never be riled into an argument, They breezed through life like this for many years until they turned sixteen and met Soujo. And that was how I came to understand how we all fall down, and how, because of a single encounter life can change irrevocably.

"If I could live another life in film, I would, as Liv Tylers ethereal Pamela in Inventing The Abbotts. I do not know if its because I would be loved endlessly by a man that looked like Joaquin Phoenix - yes I suppose that's probably the reason."

DINNER TIME
We'd sit round the table: five of us. Just screaming and jostling, until my mother and older sister brought the food in. So that made six children, a mother and a father around our little table for the thing we all looked forward to daily: Dinner Time. I and my little brother getting bumped to the small chairs again, always the same fight because he would never learn to remember that the big chairs with the regal hand rests were for the adults. I was just turning fifteen any day now, and beyond ecstatic over the fact that my social entry into the adult circles would soon be realised. Mum sat beside me and immediately got on the case of what I would wear for my society debut - My sisters 30th Birthday. I remember my other three sisters fussed and cooed over me appropriately with whilst father tried and failed to tame the boys who ran amok with laughter over the word "bra" and "breasts" They sent the potatoes spilling over and rolling around the table. I remember my father's sighs: it was always mayhem from "start" to dessert and then all over until one by one we would all scrape back our chairs and leave, save my father who would pick up the paper again to read until late into the night. The way we were - our evening ritual. You could set your clock by it.

THE WINDING WAY

THE WINDING WAY
by CHSJackie Halper
"When I was a child, sipping, on the porch, Guatemala iced tea in Spanish Harlem."
I was nine. I was always with my step brother Perry Poineneau then. Even now as I look back, I picture us riding our bikes through the neighbourhood, our endless summer holidays that came with his eccentric father who was a writer, and because he was a writer he was always looking for a story or being called to tell someone else's story. Although now I look back, I see it was a soul reward rather than a financial one. He took us along, and our mother a house full with too many mouths to feed, gladly palmed me off to my former husband to a life on the road. We loved going on what we called ‘sumjours’ short for summer journeys. We loved the way it felt in our mouths; like the word scrumptious. And speaking of scrumptious, nothing was spared when my step father came to feeding us. He fed us lavishly and I always wondered where he had the money to do so, when all my life all I had seen so far, was my mother scraping and scraping to make all the ends meet. He would stuff little bags full of soft buttery bread rolls, sweet pastries, crisps and candy. We would munch quietly on rich chocolate cakes as we sat beside him as old people poured out their heartfelt tales of their life, sometimes another life, or a life that they had wished they had lived years ago. We travelled to India, Africa, the Caribbean and Guatemala once, but the best part was when the world, our world became quiet and still and nothing but the voice of the storyteller would be heard. I was only nine then, but it gave me a lot to think about as I grew up; the world from the eyes of a child changing as I grew into a woman. I saw that life was a journey of many chapters of many moments and events. If anything, one thing that those travels taught me was that moments ought to be recorded and documented. It was around that time that I also got my first coin box. And I knew instantly what I would save for. I would save every penny I had to buy a camera. It was the first real decision I ever made, for my life, for me. Not made by my Uncle, by my step father, my dear mother or by circumstance. A choice made by me. And so it was, that one afternoon on the porch, standing with my things, at the end of home and at the beginning of a new chapter, the time came for me to start my own life journey. Hard work and the unforgettable sacrifices of my mother propelled me to a new life for me at Pittsburgh University. And it was there, right there, that I began my love affair with photography.

When I dream, I dream of wonder, beautiful lake, where stars the stars they talk, up yonder and where they say they have traveled from here to where from whence from whence they came, they drop; they've dropped into my arms and say on and on and on anon; row on and on and on; anon; three whisper a riddle, but four dance with me, two add to three and three whisper a riddle; if two more then take away plus two, but five they came, when one fell too, upon the ground they lay, then three would glide and then waylay up yonder o'er the sea, the sea, what was the riddle now how many stars now be? Remain with me, what be my riddle? Tell me, tell me, they curiously chime; one day one day, girls play, they play, one black, one green, one pink with orange and dark like me, each joined by fair the fair the Mary Esheklen, but she a set of nine plus three oh don't forget the newborn baby in the crib; now of the nine, eight boys were three, so only left the boys and one the she, and all were friends with green girl she, but two take leave, on a missions, dash through, just right through me, to go see about an ice cream man across the park and o'er yonder o'er see, now what be the riddle of the girls that be? How many girls played out today, sat with me, talked with me, and gave their loved ones one away to me, I keep none, souls passeth on, atop the gilded caskets on, The Beautiful Blue Lake in Maine.

BRAZIL 2014

"I know everyone here, my family included have been against the World Cup coming to our country, and my brothers and I were sort of dreading it, becuase going to school on the already congested buses would be tough. But the atmosphere has been amazing, everyone is happy and cheering and the tourists I have met have easily been respectful of our community. Even where we live, which would not be considered as that great to look at, have attracted a few tourists who come over and ask us questions about life in Brazil, they want to take our pictures and they are always commenting on how Brazilian girls are so pretty - and always joking about how we should set them up. It is funny. We love football and I think it is an honour. I just hope that for our country and everyone will be inspired including the Government to make our country better. Hearing how people love Brazil and praise our culture and lively spirit makes me want better for us and makes me inspired."

FASHION FOCUS
His obsession began in 1976 when aged ten, he visited a Parisian museum. Far from being inspired by its contents, Christian Louboutin couldn't forget the impression made on him by a huge, red high heel worn by another visitor. A meeting with French shoe master Roger Vivier changed his outlook. "I never thought to do it as a job', he said. Catherine Deneuve, Ines de la Fressange and Princess Caroline of Monaco would essentially be barefoot without him so prolific has been his work for womens footwear. I think his story just goes to show how important it is to fill our children's minds with inspiring places, experiences and thoughts.
